Brussels, 13/05/2013 (Agence Europe) - On 8 May, the Court of Justice of the EU ruled against (joint cases C-197/11 and C-203/11) a decree of the Flemish Region (Belgium) on land and real estate policy of 27 March 2009. It takes the view that the condition laid down in this decree that there should exist a “sufficient connection” between the prospective buyer or tenant and the relevant commune is an unjustified restriction on the fundamental freedoms.
