30/04/2013 (Agence Europe) - Condemnation for violation of embargo. On 26 April, a lawcourt in Hamburg (Germany) charged a German and three German-Iranians with providing Iran with equipment for a nuclear reactor which is suspected of being part of a military nuclear programme - in violation of the European embargo - the lawcourt stated on 29 April. More precisely, the four men are accused of having provided valves for a heavy water nuclear reactor in 2010 and 2011. Aged between 25 and 80, the men had delivered the equipment via several Asian countries, including five parcels of 92 valves which were sent by boat. The sanctions against Iran are part of a double approach - together with negotiations - to the Iranian nuclear programme. High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton might speak by telephone in the coming days to the chief Iranian negotiator, Saïd Jalili, about the negotiations.
