22/04/2013 (Agence Europe) - First step towards anti-subsidy duty on Argentinian and Indonesian bio-diesel. Last week, the European Commission adopted a regulation which subjects imports of bio-diesel from Argentina and Indonesia to registration for the next nine months. By means of this first step before bringing in an anti-subsidy duty on imports of Argentinian and Indonesian bio-diesel, the European executive will oblige importers of bio-diesel to notify the national customs authorities of all of their purchases from these two countries, in order to allow duty to be collected retrospectively on these volumes if the European procedure concludes positively. A similar procedure has also been in place since the end of January in the framework of an anti-dumping investigation into exports of bio-diesel from these same countries. (EH/transl.fl)
