Brussels, 19/03/2013 (Agence Europe) - On Monday 18 March, the Court of Justice of the EU held a formal sitting on the occasion of the entry into office of Carl Wetter, who has been appointed judge at the General Court. Wetter was appointed on 6 March by member state representatives following the resignation of Nils Wahl, who has become advocate general to the Court of Justice, until 31 August 2013. Wetter, who is of Swedish nationality, was born in 1949. He has a BA in economics and law from Uppsala University. He has served as administrative officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as a member of the Swedish Bar Association, and a member of the competition law working group of the International Chamber of Commerce Sweden. He is a lecturer in competition law at Lund University and Stockholm University and the author of numerous publications. (FG/transl.jl)
