On 8 March, the European Commission authorised the acquisition of Austrian aluminium company AMAG Metall (primary and semi-finished products) by another Austrian company, B & C Industrieholding (BCIH), a holding company with stakes in industry, including a major share of Lenzing AG (cellulose fibres) and Semperit AG Holding (gloves, tubing, structured industrial components and transmission belts). The deal was examined using the expedited merger control procedure. (FG)
