Brussels, 05/02/2013 (Agence Europe) - A new chapter has been opened in the mackerel war being waged between the EU and Norway, on one side, and the Faroe Islands and Iceland, on the other. Rejkyavik announced on 2 February that it had decided to lower its mackerel quota by 15% in 2013 to 123,182 tonnes (down from 145,227 tonnes in 2012). Iceland, however, said it was willing to negotiate an agreement with the other parties (EU, Norway, Faroe Islands).
