EXTERNAL ACTION / (ae) croatia

15/01/2013 (Agence Europe) - Füle wants to intensify efforts to find a solution to the Ljubljanska banka issue. On Monday 14 January, European Commissioner for Enlargement Stefan Füle called on Croatia and Slovenia to engage in “intensified efforts (…) to find a mutually acceptable solution” to the Ljubljanska banka issue “as soon as possible”, with the Slovenian parliament wanting this issue to be settled before ratifying Zagreb's accession to the EU, planned for 1 July (see EUROPE 10705). During his meeting with Croatian Foreign Minister Vesna Pusic, Füle stressed his satisfaction at Croatia's progress since publication of the progress report on 10 October 2012, and called on Zagreb to continue its efforts to ensure all obligations be fulfilled and that the country complete its preparations before accession.
