15/01/2013 (Agence Europe) - EP: Mathieu takes charge of JHA for EPP group. According to an EPP press release on15 January, Véronique Mathieu MEP has been appointed group coordinator for security, justice and immigration questions. Her colleague Georgios Papanikolaou (Greece) will be deputy coordinator. As a member of the civil liberties committee, Mathieu is also the coordinator of the special European Parliament (EP) committee on organised crime, corruption and money laundering (CRIM). On behalf of the EP, she was responsible for steering through the proposal on the “single permit”, which introduced a single residency and work procedure for third country nationals. (SP/transl.fl)
