Brussels, 07/01/2013 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission wants to know how to speed up implementation of European multimodal travel planning and information services. A public consultation has been opened and will run until March.
The Commission considers that barriers still remain to introducing these planning services, although they are useful tools in developing more efficient, sustainable transport. These barriers relate to access to the availability, accessibility and exchange of all relevant information for all modes of transport at European level. The Commission is looking to propose a number of measures to rectify the situation but will wait for recommendations from stakeholders before moving forward in this field. Participation in the public consultation has been possible since 19 December and comes to a close on 12 March 2013. (MD/transl.fl)
