21/12/2012 (Agence Europe) - Programme for police cooperation. On Friday 21 December, the European Commission adopted a new four-year programme - the Eastern Partnership Police Cooperation Programme - which is allocated €5 million. It is intended to support the cooperation of police services between the EU and Eastern Partnership countries on issues related to cross-border crime. The EU thus wants to help the development of the rule of law in the region. Exchanges of best practice, study visits, exchange programmes, training and meetings will be organised to facilitate networking and establish partnerships and trust between the police forces of the EU and the Eastern Partnership countries.
