On Tuesday 11 December, the European Investment Bank (EIB) announced that it will provide €50 million for a project that includes the construction of a 120 MW hydropower plant at the existing Itezhi-Tezhi Dam (Zambia) and a 291 km transmission line to Lusaka to connect the power station to the national grid and the Southern African Power Pool.
