11/12/2012 (Agence Europe) - Memorandum of understanding between the EEAS and Spain for a Spanish embassy on the premises of the EU delegation. On Monday 10 December, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton and Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs José Garcia-Margallo y Marfil signed a memorandum of understanding to set up the Spanish Embassy on the premises of the EU delegation in Yemen. In the view of one European source, this co-location should become effective as of January 2013. This is the second plan for co-location between the EU and a member state, after the first agreement in May 2012 to set up an embassy for Luxembourg on the premises of the European delegation in Ethiopia.
