Brussels, 05/12/2012 (Agence Europe) - As part of updating of state aid rules, the European Commission unveiled on 5 December (on its own initiative) a proposal to reform the 2009 state aid best practices code and a proposal to extend the Enabling Regulation (Regulation 994/98) to expand the exemptions so that the Commission can decide that various categories of aid are compatible with the single market and therefore do not need to be notified to the Commission.
