30/11/2012 (Agence Europe) - Mergers: Ixetic-Magna. On 29 November, the European Commission cleared the acquisition of German automotive supplier Ixetic Verwaltungs GmbH of Germany by Magna International Inc of Canada, also a supplier to the automotive industry. The Commission's investigation confirmed that the merged entity, notified on 23 October, would continue to face competition from a number of strong competitors and that customers would still have sufficient alternative suppliers in all markets concerned. The investigation focussed on the sales market for vacuum pumps for braking systems and oil transmission pumps for engines, where the two parties' sales overlap. (FG/transl.fl)
