EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton said on Thursday 29 November that she has signed a financing agreement for a €16 million programme with Tajikistan to make the country's agri-food companies more competitive by improving quality and diversifying sales. The programme will help expand farming and implement the government's agricultural reform programme and will be implemented in cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
