Van Rompuy for appointment of Mersch, while EP wants female

Brussels, 23/10/2012 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 23 October, Herman Van Rompuy, the president of the European Council, called on MEPs to reach a position on the possible appointment of Yves Mersch from Luxembourg to the ECB Board of Governors solely on the basis of his qualifications for the job.
