Brussels, 02/10/2012 (Agence Europe) - In its short term forecasts published on Monday 1 October the European Commission is expecting a 3.3% drop for cereal production in 2012, with a sharp decrease in the maize harvest (-16%) due to the impact of the drought in Romania, Bulgaria and Hungary. It also forecasts a steep drop in beef and veal production, and a moderate increase in milk production.
