Brussels, 28/09/2012 (Agence Europe) - On Friday 28 September, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton stressed the need for Serbia to be fully committed in negotiations with Kosovo and encouraged Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic “to be ready to take some tough decisions”. During their meeting in New York, Ashton and Nikolic discussed continuing and intensifying the dialogue with Pristina. Ashton recalled that progress in the sustainable and visible improvement in relations with Kosovo is “crucial for opening accession negotiations and Serbia's EU perspective in general”. She also welcomed Belgrade's progress in implementing the agreements already concluded in the dialogue, and stressed that total establishment of these agreements is expected without delay.
