On Monday 10 September 2011, the European Commission gave the go-ahead for acquisition of French industrial engineering company Fives by investment funds managed by AXA Investment Managers Private Equity Europe SA (AXA IMPEE), the investment fund subsidiary of French insurance company AXA.
