The European Commission announced on Friday 3 August that it would provide additional support of €94 million to the Republic of Moldova. The funding, which is part of the EU's annual action programme for 2012, will mainly be used for reforming the administration of justice in order to create a justice system which is “independent, transparent and professional”. It will also help to reduce the economic and social disparities between regions and improve the vocational education and training system to adapt it to the actual needs of a functioning market economy. A framework programme will also provide technical assistance to help Moldova negotiate and implement its future agreements with the EU. (CG/transl.fl)
