31/07/2012 (Agence Europe) - Mergers: FCI/Delphi. On 27 July 2012, the European Commission cleared the planned acquisition of the motorised vehicles business of FCI S.A. (FCI MVL) of France by Delphi Holding Luxembourg Sarl of Luxembourg. The Commission's investigation showed that the parties have a moderate combined market share and a number of credible competitors remain active in this market. Delphi is also active in a number of downstream markets which incorporate connectors, but does not enjoy “market power” (i.e. the ability to raise prices above competitive levels) downstream. The Commission concluded that the deal, notified on 22 June 2012, would not raise competition concerns in the European Economic Area or any significant part of it. (FG/transl.fl)
