Brussels, 12/07/2012 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission announced on Thursday 12 July that it was looking to recruit 249 Croatian nationals as Croatia prepares to become the 28th EU member state on 1 July 2013. The intention is to ensure that Croats are properly reflected within the institution as rapidly as possible. The recruitment of officials and temporary agents covers a five-year transition period, ending on 30 June 2018. 149 administrators, which will include one director general and 100 assistants, will be actively sought. For the moment, the European Personnel Selection Office (EPSO) has begun recruitment of Croatian language translators, interpreters, and lawyer-linguists, posts for which nationals from all member states could apply. Before the end of the year, EPSO will begin the task of recruiting Croatian nationals for a wider range of duties. (EL/transl.rt)
