19/04/2012 (Agence Europe) - Appeal for calm. On 18 April, the spokesperson for Commissioner for Enlargement Stefan Füle appealed for calm in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM), following the murder of five people on 13 April, which has stoked up further tension between the different communities. Peter Stano said that it was important that citizens did their best to avoid poisoning inter-ethnic relations and called on them to refrain from any provocation. He added: “We are aware of the tension caused by these murders. We understand the emotion but it is important that they support and help the police and legal authorities dealing with the enquiry and that everyone remains calm.” (CG/transl.fl)
