According to an initial estimate published by the EU's Statistical Office (Eurostat) on Wednesday 18 April 2012, production in the construction industry fell by 7.1% in the eurozone and 3.7% in the EU27 in February 2012 compared with the previous month. In January, construction industry production fell by 0.5% and 3.9% respectively. Compared with February 2011, production fell by 12.9% in February 2012 in the eurozone and by 9.4% in the EU27. The biggest falls were recorded in Slovenia, Italy and Germany for both the monthly and annual figures. (OL)
