The EU needs to accept the developments underway in the countries of the southern side of the Mediterranean and work with them, whilst keeping its own principles in place - reality and illusions

The Arab Spring, an outmoded formula. It is becoming increasingly difficult to speak of relations between the EU and the countries of the southern shore of the Mediterranean on the basis of the “Arab Spring” formula. This expression still exists and that is a very good thing, because it is both symbolic and sympathetic. But it no longer represents reality. Tunisia, Egypt and Libya, the three countries behind this spring, are following very different roads and others have joined them...
