On Tuesday 13 March 2012, the European Commission gave the go-ahead to the planned acquisition of joint control of newly created Spanish company FCC Energia SA by the UK's Mitsui Renewable Energy Europe Ltd and Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas SA (Spain).
