09/03/2012 (Agence Europe) - De Gucht to attend 2nd EU-ASEAN Business Summit on 1 April. Trade Commissioner Karel De Gucht will take part in the 2nd AU-ASEAN Business Summit in Phnom Penh on 1 April, alongside Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Cambodian Trade Minister Cham Prasidh and ASEAN Secretary General Surin Pitsuwan. The event will bring together more than 300 business leaders and decision-makers from Europe and South-East Asia to discuss trade relations between the two regions. The first session will be devoted to discussion of fostering inter-regional business partnerships based on sustainable trade and investment. The discussions will take particular account of corporate social responsibility. In the second session, discussion will turn to the agri-food industry, energy infrastructure, manufacturing and services. (EH/transl.rt)
