05/03/2012 (Agence Europe) - EIB loan to Enagás. The European Investment Bank (EIB) granted, on Friday 2 March, a loan of €175 million to Enagás to allow it to finance the development of infrastructure within its Strategic Plan 2007-2011. This is the last instalment of a total loan of one million euro approved by the EIB in 2008. The investment plan financed is composed of projects that are part of the trans-European energy networks (TEN-E) in the gas sector. Enagás' objective is to increase and improve import capacity for liquefied natural gas in several regions of Spain as well as the distribution of high pressure gas to meet growing demand and improve supply conditions. Investment is spread out over the whole of Spanish territory, with 52% for convergence regions or regions in a transitional phase. (OL/transl.jl)
