Brussels, 01/03/2012 (Agence Europe) - The Danish Presidency has put green energy at the heart of its European energy policies for its six months at the helm of the Council of the EU, and is living up to its ambitions. Danish Prime Minister Helle Thorning Schmidt will be opening the 2012 annual conference of the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA) in Copenhagen from 16 to 19 April, along with the Danish crown prince, Prince Frederik. Danish Energy Minister Martin Lidegaard will be chairing one of the conference round tables.
Forty round tables will take place on areas like policy, funding, technology, grids, infrastructure, science, research, resource assessment programmes and other matters. The EWEA will unveil a leading study on the impact of the wind farm industry on the European economy, growth and jobs. The Global Wind Energy Council will unveil its 2011 report on the wind power market. (EH/transl.fl)
