Brussels, 14/02/2012 (Agence Europe) - The Europeans may call on Athens to implement some 10 priority measures in the budgetary and macroeconomic fields before they give their final green light to the second Greek bailout. These measures - plus close supervision of the implementation of the commitments made and the possible participation of the ECB-type institutional sector in the partial restructuring of the Greek debt - will be looked into at a forthcoming meeting of the Eurogroup. The finance ministers of the eurozone may meet on Monday 20 February, instead of on Wednesday as initially scheduled, due to delays in finalising the work. However, a teleconference will nonetheless take place on Wednesday 15 February. The government of Lucas Papademos met on Tuesday to decide on new economy measures to the tune of €325 million called for by the Eurogroup. These will reportedly concern the defence sector. The main Greek political parties must also commit in writing to apply the austerity measure irrespective of the results of the elections scheduled for April. (MB/transl.fl)
