Brussels, 04/01/2012 (Agence Europe) - The Court of Justice of the EU ruled on 21 December 2011 (Case C-28/09) that the traffic prohibition put in place by Austria for lorries carrying certain goods on the Inn valley motorway in the Tyrol is incompatible with the free movement of goods. It formed the view that Austria had not clearly established that the principal alternative measures proposed by the Commission to protect the valley's environment were inappropriate.
