Brussels, 03/01/2012 (Agence Europe) - At the beginning of January, the Netherlands began its programme for monitoring car and lorry registration plates of Belgian and German vehicles. In December, the Dutch home secretary, Gerd Leers, said that this video-surveillance system would not have any impact on Schengen rules or citizens' private lives.
