Brussels, 06/09/2011 (Agence Europe) - On the occasion of the visit by the president of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga, to Brussels, the president of the European Council, Herman Van Rompuy, wished to express his satisfaction at the agreement signed between Pristina and Belgrade on customs stamps and cadastre. “This is a significant step in improving relations in the region and ensuring freedom of movement of goods in accordance with European values and standards”, Van Rompuy said on Tuesday 6 September. He went on: “There is more to do. (…) We need to find equally creative and pragmatic solutions for the issues of telecommunication, energy, and representation in regional fora”. The Council president also expressed his optimism regarding rapprochement between Kosovo and the EU, saying visa liberalisation could soon be the next stage. (J.K./transl.jl)
