The European Commission granted clearance on Wednesday 31 August to the proposed concentration by which the undertakings Fujifilm Holdings Corporation (FH, Japan) and Mitsubishi Corporation (MC, Japan) seek to acquire joint control of Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies UK Limited (FDBUK, UK) and Fujifilm Dyosynth Biotechnologies U.S.A., Inc. (FDBUS, USA) hitherto under sole control of FH by way of purchase of shares. The business activities of the undertakings concerned are: - FH: manufacturing and marketing of imaging, information and document, systems; - MC: general trading activities in various industries, including energy, metals, machinery, chemicals, food and general merchandise; - FDBUK and FDBUS: biologics contract manufacturing services.
