Brussels, 31/08/2011 (Agence Europe) - Commissioner for Education, Culture, Multilingualism and Youth Androulla Vassiliou will be in Belgrade on 1, 2 and 3 September to meet the ministers for education, Zarko Obradovic, culture, Predrag Markovic, and youth and sports, Snezana Samardzic-Markovic, at the 9th UNESCO regional summit of the heads of state of South-East Europe. The European Union supports many activities in Serbia, linked to youth exchange, volunteering and cultural projects, via its Culture and Youth programmes. Additionally, several Serbian universities and research institutes have received more than €50 million from the EU via the Tempus, Erasmus and Marie Curie programmes, the European Commission points out.
