Brussels, 29/06/2011 (Agence Europe) - The recovery of the rail sector, after the economic and financial crisis, is continuing in Europe for both freight and passengers, though the upturn is much less marked for passengers, as may be seen from the figures recently highlighted by the Community of European Railway and Infrastructure Companies (CER), gathered from its 70 members across the EU. The recovery is not evenly spread throughout Europe, with differences between east and west.
