21/06/2011 (Agence Europe) - Poland makes Council fail on climate. The Environment Council was not able to adopt conclusions on the roadmap for a low carbon economy by 2050. Poland was opposed to the adoption of a compromise text mentioning that a 25% emissions reduction by 2050 would be the right course to take. Warsaw, which is to take on the rotating presidency of the EU Council, in fact cannot accept any target that goes beyond the 20% reduction by 2020. (A.N./transl.jl)
