06/05/2011 (Agence Europe) - Malaysia side-by-side with the EU to conclude Round this year. Following a meeting with EU Trade Commissioner Karel De Gucht on the sidelines of the EU-ASEAN business summit in Jakarta on 5 May, Malaysian Trade Minister Mustapha Mohamed stressed his commitment to successfully concluding Doha Round talks by the end of this year. “We remain steadfast in our resolve (to conclude negotiations) as we've spent a lot of time and money. We feel it's important to conclude the talks because, by reaching an agreement, we can bolster world economic growth”, he stated, proud to have been, along with De Gucht, one of the 20 trade ministers signatories to a statement sent to the 153 WTO countries underlining their determination to finalise Doha negotiations before the end of the year.
