26/04/2011 (Agence Europe) - Nominations. Thomas Montagne, a wine producer from Luberon, was elected president of the CEVI (the European Confederation of Independent Winegrowers) during the General Assembly in Italy on 20 April last. He will take over from Xavier de Volontat. Thomas Montagne will be assisted in his task by Claude Bocquet-Thonney, a Swiss wine producer and the vice president responsible for the network and campaigning. Costantino Charrère (an Italian wine producer and deputy-president in charge of internal animation and network), and Laurent Kox (a wine grower in Luxembourg and vice president responsible for project development) will also assist Thomas Montagne. The latter declared that, “developing our union and political strength will be my priority and will also be at the centre of the action I take. I particularly want to get our proposals listened to in the context of Common Agricultural Policy reform”. (L.C.trans/fl)
