The EU continues to support reform in Moldova and the efforts for the country's integration into Europe, Catherine Ashton told the press after a meeting with Moldova's Prime Minister Vlad Filat, in Chisinau on 3 March. Moldova is one of the six beneficiary countries of the Eastern Partnership launched in May 2009. Talks currently underway with a view to concluding an association agreement “bring us even closer, not only politically but also with regard to the economy”, Ashton said. Vlad Filat, for his part, pointed out that the reforms underway in the country would be continued within the framework of European integration. (H.B./transl.jl)
