Young people in emerging countries most optimistic about their future. - Young Indians are among the most optimistic of the younger generation in the world with regard to their future. This news was announced in the “2011, World Youths” survey published by the Fondation pour l'innovation politique. Individuals aged between 16 and 29 were interviewed in 25 countries throughout the world. In this survey, young Indians, Brazilians, Russians and Chinese (from the BRIC countries) appeared to be the most optimistic, with respective scores of 90%, 87%, 81% and 73% in response to the question, “Do I have a promising future?”. Eighty-one per cent of young Americans also replied in the affirmative to this question. As opposed to their European counterparts, they are, however, more concerned about pollution. In Europe, young people from Finland and the United Kingdom were the most optimistic, with respective scores of 75% and 74%, well ahead of Germany (58%), France (53%) and Greece (43%).
