Brussels, 10/01/2011 (Agence Europe) - For the second year in a row, the 10 main European think tanks active in Brussels are organising (in partnership with Agence Europe) a conference on the State of the Union. Many senior figures have confirmed that they will be taking part in the 2011 Think Tank Dialogue. These will include the president of the European Commission, José Manuel Barroso, the president of the European Council, Herman Van Rompuy, the Hungarian minister of foreign affairs, Janos Martonyi, Philippe Herzog (Confrontations Europe), Philippe de Schoutheete (Egmont), Dominique Moisi (Ifri) and MEPs Juan Fernando Lopez Aguilar and Franziska Brantner. Four workgroups will debate the EU's role in climate management, the budget and European economic governance, European migration policy and the impact of the European external action service on the role of the EU on the world stage. The “EUROPE 3.0: Building a Viable Union” conference will take place in Brussels on 25 January.
