30/11/2010 (Agence Europe) - Spain and Italy must improve energy efficiency buildings. On 24 November the European Commission sent a Reasoned Opinion to Spain and Italy for failure to properly apply EU Directive 2002/91/EC on the energy performance of buildings - Spain for lack of performance calculation methods and a verification system covering all buildings, and Italy for its national rules for the issuing of buildings' energy performance that do not meet the requirements set out in the EU directive, and also for the lack of measures governing regular inspections of air conditioning systems.
