€10.5 million for redundant workers in Netherlands

Brussels, 18/11/2010 (Agence Europe) - €10.5 million from the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund will be paid to workers laid off in the publishing, printing and reproduction sector in the Netherlands, as decided without debate by the EU Council of Ministers on Wednesday 17 November. The European Parliament has still to approve the decisions next week to allow support measures which are to be co-financed by the Netherlands and which, inter alia, include training, professional orientation, job-search and assistance for entrepreneurship. Aid will be broken down as follows: Noord Holland and Zuid Holland (€2.33 million), Noord Holland and Utrecht (€2.27 million), Noord Brabant and Zuid Holland (€2.89 million), Limburg (€0.55 million), Gelderland and Overijssel (€2.01 million), and Drenthe (€0.45 million).
