Brussels, 05/11/2010 (Agence Europe) - In the context of the meeting of the Committee of the Regions' (CoR) Commission on Territorial Cohesion (COTER) on 16 November in Brussels (from 3.00pm to 5.30pm), the presidents of the main European local and regional associations were invited to discuss with Regional Policy Commissioner Johannes Hahn, CoR President Mercedes Bresso and COTER members on the impact that the 5th report on cohesion has on the debate relating to post-2013 cohesion policy.
The meeting will be held several days after the report is adopted by the Commission on 10 November and just ahead of the informal meeting of EU ministers responsible for regional policy on 22 November, in Liège.
At 3.00pm, Mercedes Bresso will open the day's business and Johannes Hahn will present the 5th report. At 3.30pm, Michel Delebarre, Mayor of Dunkirk and Chair of the CoR COTER commission, will moderate a round table discussion in which participants will be: Jean-Yves Le Drian, President of the Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions (CPMR), Marcelino Iglesias Ricou, President of the Conference of European Regions with Legislative Power (REGLEG), the president of Eurocities, Oldrich Vlasak, Vice-President of the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CEMR) and MEP, Marc de Buck, Vice-President of the Association of the European Border Regions (AEBR), and Thomas Andersson, Chair of the Assembly of European Regions' (AER) taskforce on the future of cohesion policy.
