Brussels, 22/10/2010 (Agence Europe) - Shareholders of public limited companies operating television stations should not have to pay fines for infringements of national legislation or ethics rules committed in broadcasts. Sanctions imposed on them for such infringements are contrary to the principles of freedom of establishment and of the free movement of capital and have a deterrent effect on investors.
That is what comes out of the judgement delivered by the Court of Justice on Thursday...
