Parliament to call for rapid change to way European Globalisation Adjustment Fund works

Brussels, 06/09/2010 (Agence Europe) - The European Parliament (EP) is to ask the Commission to bring forward its submission of its mid-term review of the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF) to 30 June 2011 and, at the same time, to submit a proposal for the revision of the EGF regulation “in order to remedy the fund's clearest shortcomings before the end of the current Multiannual Financial Framework”.
