Brussels, 06/08/2010 (Agence Europe) - On Friday 6 August, the European Commission adopted a communication on the medical applications of ionising radiation. It suggests various solutions to the urgent problem of radio-isotope shortage in nuclear medicine. The Commission also recommends improving patients' protection and that of medical staff. This communication was developed by the services under Commissioner Günther Oettinger (Energy) and Commissioner Joh Dalli (Health).
