SWIFT deal to come into force on 1 August 2010?

Brussels, 25/06/2010 (Agence Europe) - The new agreement between the EU and the United States on the United States being given details of Europeans' bank accounts by the Swift financial services company is in the process of being adopted and may come into force on 1 August 2010. All the member states are happy with the changes to the European Commission's draft agreement (see EUROPE 10160) and they are also endorsed by a majority of MEPs (see EUROPE 10167).
