Poland allowed to grant €390 million in aid to increase gas storage capacity

Brussels, 23/06/2010 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday 23 June, the European Commission authorised Poland to provide state grants amounting to €390 million to Polskie Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo S.A., the country's major gas company, for the construction or capacity increase of four underground gas storage sites. This should allow Poland to enhance security of supply, in line with the aims of Directive2004/67/EC, and enable it to deal with supply disruptions or seasonal variations in...
